Mesa Detention Quick Facts
Mesa Police Holding Facility
Mesa operates its own holding facility at 130 North Robson, Mesa, AZ 85201. This is not a full jail. It holds people for a short time after arrest. The facility has 50 beds total. Staff monitor inmates around the clock. You can call 480-644-2323 any time of day or night for information about someone recently arrested in Mesa.
The holding facility is for temporary detention only. People stay here while waiting for initial court appearance or transfer. Misdemeanor offenders may go to a CoreCivic contract facility. Those with more serious charges transfer to the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office jails in Phoenix. This usually happens within 24 to 48 hours of arrest. Once transferred, you need to search MCSO records instead of calling Mesa Police.
Mesa Police do not maintain a public inmate roster for the holding facility. To find out if someone is there, call the number listed above. Staff can tell you if a person is in custody or has already moved to county jail. They can also give you basic booking details like charges and bond amount if available.
Mesa Inmates at Maricopa County Jail
Most Mesa arrests end up in Maricopa County custody. The county runs five jail facilities in Phoenix. MCSO handles long term detention for all cities in the county. This includes Mesa.
The MCSO inmate search shows current jail inmates. You can search by name or booking number. Results display photo, charges, bond amount, and facility location. The search covers Fourth Avenue Jail, Estrella Jail, Lower Buckeye Jail, Towers Jail, and ITR. Data updates throughout the day but may lag a few hours behind actual booking activity. If you cannot find someone who was just arrested in Mesa, wait a bit and try again. It takes time for records to appear in the system after transfer from the city holding facility.
Note: MCSO inmate search shows current custody only, not people who have been released.

The ADCRR inmate data search lets you find people in state custody. Search by name or ADC number. Results show photo, sentence length, and projected release date. The database covers all state prison facilities in Arizona. Keep in mind that release dates shown are not audited and may change. Under A.R.S.
